Truth claims in Islam and Christianity.

Secular culture will tolerate religion as long as it does not make universal claims but it only tolerates religion as a personal hobby. Islam and Christianity both make universal claims, although Christianity believes the rule of God on earth needs a Divine input from beyond not just a human effort here on earth. Also there is a related difference between the religious claims of militant Islam and Christianity. Islam identifies the kingdom of God on earth with this worldly power (or state power) wheras Christianity doesn't or shouldn't because it is waiting for God to do His part.   America makes a separation between religion and state. The proper balance, is found I think here.
